A large stadium/arena type Unreal Deathmatch level by Jon Davis.
================================================================
Title : The Coliseum
Version : 1.1 (1b)
Release Date : 10/25/99 (original date 12/07/98)
Filename : DmColiseum_1b.zip
Author(s) : Jon Davis, aka "Xiaoth"
Email Address : [email protected]
Web Page : http://www.unrealed.org/xiaoth/
Description : A large stadium/arena
Other levels by author : This was my first map, prior to the 1b
update. I've since done several, but
thus far have only released
DMBattlePool_v1b, a simple arena-
style map.
Additional Credits to : All the people out there who wrote
beginner's tutorials for UnrealEd. Lack of documentation on a
platform as advanced as UnrealEd really sucks.

Author's Notes
--------------
10/25
-----
This update adds botmatch support, and it seems to be working
*GREAT*. Also fixed a minor glitch with the elevators and one
with the skybox. Rebuilt geometry with full optimization.
This level still runs very, very slow on any hardware slower than
a P-450 and a TNT2 or Voodoo3 card with 16 MB video RAM. I'm
guessing here, because my system doesn't have those specs and I'm
hurtin'. :\
12/7/98
-------
This is my first creation, sort of a complete self-tutorial on
UnrealEd. I wanted to build something other than the typical..
you know .. you start in a room, you walk through a hallway, you
encounter another room, you come across water, there's a weapon,
there's the typical sniping place, etc., etc. This was the place I
wanted to create. I've always had an appreciation and awe of big
stadiums, since I was a little kid. DmColiseum successfully gave
me that feeling of awe you get when you're standing alone in a
gigantic stadium (at least, for a while it did). Realistically,
though, DmColisium is only 1/3 the size of a real stadium.
There's an amount of risk involved when doing something out-of-the
ordinary, building something not many other people bother to build.
For some, DmColiseum might be considered different simply because
it's so incredibly simple. Others, though, might like large, open
areas, and might enjoy the map. I haven't had the luxury of
playing the map in a full-blown deathmatch yet, and botmatches
aren't supported. Sooooo.. I don't know. What do you think?
Play it, let me know.
Hints
-----
Look behind the lower seats. Lots of health back there. You can
get out, just walk through the "barrier" at the entrance (it isn't
solid).
