There's curved surfaces galore here, but they don't seem to impact the framerate much at all. Level layout is well-done and lends itself to a mixture of sniping and close-in combat. There's some great use of a looped ambient sound to create an eerie effect. Bots play very well, and understand how to use the jump pads.

Author's Notes
--------------
Ascender is without a doubt the most fun dm-level I've designed IMO.
The main reason for this, is that it includes jump-pads similar to
those found in id software's Q3test, and it really makes the gameplay
much more fluid.
It also sports a multitude of sniping areas due to the vast, open layout.
New to version 1.1 is bot support. The bots play very well if there are a lot
of action going on, i.e. a lot of players, but 1 on 1 will be a bit boring
since the bots aren't using the jump-pads in a "professional" way. The do use
them, but they seem to be a bit heavier than the human players. You'll know
when you see it.
NOTE THAT YOU'LL NEED THE 225F VERSION OF UNREAL TO PLAY THIS LEVEL WITH
BOTS.
In case you were wondering, the ambience for this level is a looped sample
of Origami Arktika's "The Division Of Hemispheres".
