You're a sniper on the red team. Zoomed in, and ready for your fifth head-shot in a row. Suddenly, your view is totally blurred by a blue haze, and before you can zoom out to actually see the bad guy standing in front of you, his flak cannon has already blown to

pieces.

You're a sniper on the red team. Zoomed in, and ready for your fifth head-shot in a row.

Suddenly, your view is totally blurred by a blue haze, and before you can zoom out to

actually see the bad guy standing in front of you, his flak cannon has already blown to

pieces.

I guess this happened to everybody at some point. With this mod, problems like these are

gone. Your sniper rifle will have a display with a nice zoomed-in view: the External

Sniper Display (ESD). I saw this in a demo of the game BattleZone, and then I knew I had

found a theme for a great mod.

The mod is fully configurable from the GUI, at the 'MODS' menu. If you don't know which

menu I'm talking about, don't panic: this menu is hidden until a mod actually uses it.

To do: - Lens flares and the likes are not displayed properly, which can have somewhat

psychedelic results. Fortunately this effect is just small, and doesn't really

interfere with gameplay.

Version 202:

Cleaned up some code. I found out that the mutator-commands introduced in version

200 don't work online. I'll have this fixed in release 203.

Version 201:

A workaround was added for a bug in UnrealTournament 405B. The bug prevented the

External Sniper Display from showing on the screen of the server-side player of a

non-dedicated server. I have informed Epic Megagames of this bug.

Version 200:

This is the first release version. Everything works OK, both in standalone and

multiplayer game. I've also added some console commands, which can be bound to keys.

They all have the form

mutate ExternSniper command

The commands are:

ToggleUsage - Normally, the ESD only shows up when using the SniperRifle. After

issuing this command the ESD is always visible. Issuing this command

again reverts to the original behaviour.

Grow - Enlarge the ESD

Shrink - Shrink the ESD (Duh!)

ZoomIn - Lowers the Field of View, thereby zooming in more

ZoomOut - Just the opposite...

To bind a command to a key, use 'Set input' command. For example:

Set input I mutate ExternSniper ZoomIn

binds the I key to the ZoomIn command.

The first version, still in beta. No network support yet, and the configuration

window needs some fine-tuning.
