Astro Battle is an online multiplayer space game where players build custom spaceships to pilot against other players.
The spaceships in Astro Battle are made up of modules. Modules are components that contribute some ability or property to the spaceship as a whole. Some examples of modules are: bridges, thrusters, cannons, torpedo bays, reactors and batteries.
The modules are snapped together in the design tool. A successful design not only relies on the modules selected but the arrangement of the modules. For example: one type of tactical design is to point weapons in every direction in order to increase the likelihood of a hit, whereas the opposite strategy would be to point all weapons in one direction in order to maximize the damage of a single hit.
Piloting takes place in arenas--large metallic cubes orbiting the moon.
A Player can join an arena by challenging another player to a space duel or by joining a dedicated server (which can host several players at a time). Astro Battle also has a practice arena for testing ship designs offline.
Points are awarded to a player every time he destroys a module from another players ship and subtracted when a player looses his bridge or ejects and selects another ship.
