Version 1.1 Released 07/29/02
-----------------------------
Changes in Version 1.1 (mostly based upon feedback from users, to thanks to all of those
who pointed out issues and/or made suggestions!)
* Added a penalty for dying and respawning! Not quite as harsh as the Official Campaign.
* Made the respawn rates longer for most encounters so characters don't run into
"infinite" spawns of monsters. (The respawn is there for multiplayer late arrivals.)
* Moved guards so they are less likely to block doorways.
* Added several items being sold in the Dew Drop Inn - more potions, magic container.
* Added a new shopkeeper inside the Tower itself.. Just be sure not to kill him. :P
* Moved around some coffins in the Crypt so people are less likely to get stuck.
(If you still get stuck, try bashing the coffin. And let me know which room it was please.)
* Adjusted XP awards to make them more level appropriate, and reward "non-violent" questors.
* Fixed the incorrect directions Agnes gives.
* Fixed a hole in the Nymph conversation.
* Adjusted toughness on some chests and doors for parties who lack a lockpicker.
* Got rid of the infinitely re-spawning vampires.
* Some other minor adjustments in conversations and scripts.
Player Guide
---------------
The adventurers find themself passing through the quiet village of Wirktus.
But upon speaking to some of the villagers, things are not all as they seem.
A mysterious Crystal Tower has appeared in the hills surrounding the village, and
soldiers from that Tower have descended upon the village and stolen their precious Artifact.
Will the adventurers attempt to infiltrate the Tower and retrieve the treasure for the
helpless villagers? Who lives there and where did it come from?
Find out, if you dare to enter the Crystal Tower.
---------------
The Story:
---------------
The Village of Wirktus has had their valuable Artifact, a Sacred Chalice,
stolen from them by a group of soldiers who came into the town from the
Crystal Tower. The Tower itself sprung up almost overnight in the hills
surrounding the Village. Of course, it will be up to the adventurers
themselves to get the Chalice back. How they go about doing that is up to
them.
Guidelines:
---------------
There is more than one way to get into the Tower itself. Some of the ways will require
some violence, some will not. There are plenty of characters to talk to in the Village
who might know something about the Tower, so do a bit of socializing before just
charging straight through the front gate with swords a-swinging.
Of course, if bloodshed and total annihilation of the enemy is your preferred course of action,
that works too. :P
If you're playing multiplayer, the encounters will scale based upon the number of people
in your party, so stick together and work as a team! The encounters will also respawn after
a certain amount of time, so just because you killed everything in a given area does not
mean it will be empty when you come back 15 minutes later! So be prepared!
The important thing is to have fun. :)
---------------
I guess that's about it. I've had this module running to the public for several days now,
and I think I've fixed all the bugs. However, if you find any, or if you have any
other questions or comments, feel free to email me at [email protected] and
I'll get back to you. :)
Thanks for playing, and hope you enjoyed it!
