Name of Operation: Cochise Green

Type of Operation: Search and Destroy

Location: Bong Son Plains, Vinh Than Mountains, Central Coastal Plains and Highlands, Binh Dinh Province, RVN.

Intelligence:

United States Forces: 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry, 173 Airborne Brigade

Objective: Drive out the Vietnamese forces from the aformentioned areas. It is of the upmost

importance that these areas be secured for the upcoming general offensive.

Vietnamese Forces: 22nd NVA and 2nd VC Regiments.

Objective: To harass and overrun military installaions as well as secure the Quin Nhon area.

We must win decisivly and strike and run in very small engagements. We can not fight for more

than aproximatly 3-4 hours without risking running out of supplies. It is of the upmost importance

that we not be foolish in our manouvers in this area.
