README FILE FOR TRIV MODULE CREATOR
About Triv Module Creator
-------------------------
Triv Module Creator is a Macintosh application for creating modules for the PalmPilot game Triv. Although Triv is a trivia game, Triv Module Creator can be used to create question sets for any purpose. Questions can have answers that are alphabetic (up to about 10 characters), numeric (up to 5 digits), multiple choice (4 choices), or true/false.
Requirements
------------
Minimum requirements for running Triv Module Creator:
System 7.1 or later,
3 Mb of hard drive space, and
3 Mb free memory.
To run the Triv Module Creator Stack, you also need HyperCard or HyperCard Player 2.2 or higher. HyperCard Player 2.4.1 can be downloaded for free from Apple at ftp://ftp.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/US/Macintosh/Utilities/HyperCard/HyperCard_Player_2.4.1.smi.bin (after installation, only the HyperCard Player application and the Home stack need to be kept).
Deciding between the application and the stack
----------------------------------------------
Triv Module Creator is provided in both application and stack formats because there are advantages and disadvantages to using each. The main disadvantage for using the application is that it is much larger (about 2 Mb vs. 182 Kb without data). If you want to keep multiple question sets loaded, you can save significant amounts of disk space by using multiple copies of the stack version. The main disadvantage for using the stack is that it does not support drag-and-drop and cannot be used as a web helper application. Double clicking on a Triv question set will only launch the Triv Module Creator application.
