Installation and running guide

==============================

Remove any older Version of Pocket Mahjong (version 1.11 or older).

Just install the mj.prc.

Please press 'MENU' and select 'START' to try competing with 3 other robots.

At any time, you can click on menu to restart game, or restart DEMO to watch

4 robots playing.

Inverted tile : Pong, Gong, Sheng tiles.

- Fix a bug : Now you have 1 tile left, you draw the same tile that you

have PONGed, you cannot self-gong when you press G. Now you can.

- Fix a bug : Say you have bamboo 1,2,2,3 and your previous player discard

a bamboo 2, the system would ask if you want to PONG, you say NO, then

it asks if you want to SHENG, now you choose YES. Then the next player

discard another bamboo 2, the system wouldn't ask you if you want to

PONG. Now it will.

- Enhancement : When you select Minimum Fan >= 3, AI players won't PONG,

SHENG or GONG style other than something it has already opened.

- Long time no see, buddy!

- AI level setting in the Setup Screen. Lvl 0 is what you are playing,

and difficulty increases gradually. Lvl 5 is rather TOUGH I must say.

an extremely busy month for me. Ops...

- Fix scoring overflow error when player score over 12 FAN.

- Fix another scoring bug (Debited the wrong player in case of 9 CHEUNG

and 12 CHEUNG).

- Self Gong is now a manual process, whenever you are in control, you can

click the 'G' to self-gong if applicable.

- I implemented the GONG wrong, if you have 3 EAST, someone discard a EAST,

you refuses to GONG, but instead you PONG, now anytime you draw a tile,

you can click the 'G' icon to GONG the remaining EAST.

- Implement a PONG checking mechanism.

i.e. Say you have 2 EAST, someone discard a EAST, you refuse to PONG,

then, the next guy discard another EAST before your turn to draw a new

tile, the system won't ask you if you want to PONG, as this is forbidden.

- Thank you for Li Chun Kit helping me out with the DOC file. Please use

TEALDOC to read it. I shall update it with Chinese characters and pictures.

- A very BETA version of Japanese rules is implemented, the program file name

is MJJ.PRC. It is far from completion and I am still working on it.

Japanese rules is more complex than Hong Kong rules, and it is somehow

more interesting.

- When you want to discard a tile, click it once, it will be highlighted,

click it one more time to confirm a discard, this will save you trouble

you will be asked if you want to GONG, you answer NO, you will be asked

if you want to PONG, now you answer YES. Now, the game won't ask you if

you want to GONG again.

- Enhancement, in the case of SHENG and SELF GONG, if there is only 1 possible

choice, you don't need to select the appropiate tiles in your set.

If there are more than 1 possible choices, those potiential tiles will

flash! Click on appropiate tiles to complete SHENG/GONG.

- BONUS removed, it CRASHES badly!

- Fix a END GAME BUG. If you press MENU->END GAME, you won't be able to

continue.

- Add chinese characters to PONG, GONG, SHENG, WIN, CHIMO.

- Add support to GONG after GONG (+2 fan) , and CHIMO after GONG (+1 fan)

- Fix a BUG when you select "N" when you are asked whether you want to CHIMO

or not.

- Fix the PING WU and DUI DUI WU confusion bug when you have CLEAN DOOR.

e.g. when the winning set is 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3, 4,4,4, 7, 7

if will be considered as DUI DUI WU

when the winning set is 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3, 4,5,6, 7, 7

if will be considered as PING WU

So it will try to give you the best possible score,

however if you have PONG or SHENG, it would of course check the PONG and

SHENG pattern and judge correctly.

- A better looking screen! Larger tiles!

- Database change, please delete older version of Pocket Mahjong.

The change allows room for growth, still special cases like Gong after

a Gong, or Win right after a gong hasn't be taken care of (WILL BE SOON).

- If you GONG, please note that the 4th tile will be placed on top of the 1st

and 2nd tile of the PONG pattern. (This save valuable space).

"1 Loser Mode" - Only the one who give tile to the winner has to pay.

And he has to pay 4 times the penalty to the winner.

For example, the winner make 4 fan, if it is CHIMO, each of the other

players has to pay 16 to the winner. If it is not a CHIMO, the culprit

has to pay 16 * 4 to the winner!

"All Loser Mode" - CHIMO is same as "1 Loser Mode". If it is not CHIMO,

The culprit has to pay DOUBLE, for example, winner make 4 fans, the

culprit has to pay 2 * 16, while the remaining 2 players pay 16 each.

- Fix a display bug when you quit Pocket Mahjong during PONG/SHENG/GONG/WU

YES/NO Box and then continue to play again. Now it will show you the same

YES/NO box again.

- Added a remaining tiles counter.

- A new DB structure, PLEASE DELETE OLDER VERSION OF POCKET MAHJONG FIRST!

- Continue game! You can quit at any time and look up your friend phone

number. Then come back to Pocket Mahjong, and select CONTINUE! Bingo!!

- Preference is saved, the SOUND ON/OFF and SPEED you selected last time

will be preserved in your next game.

- In the score display screen, just click on the screen for the next game.

- CHOS user can view Chinese scoring description!

- BUG FIXED : if you have SHENG 3 times and got 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3 opened,

and when you draw one of 1,2 and 3, you would be allow to GONG which is

not correct.

- BUG FIXED : SHENG tiles are sorted before display.

- Hard disk CRASH!!! Poor me!!! Gotta stop programming for 2 days.

- Fix a BUG. When you want to pick up the other 2 tiles that would make

a SHENG, if one of them happens to be the leftmost one, the SHENG would

fail. Now it is fixed.

- Fix a BUG. e.g. WINNING right after a GONG was not possible, now it is

fixed.

- Fix a BUG. e.g. you have 3 THREE-MAN, when a robot discard a THREE-MAN,

You would be asked if you want to GONG, if you answer NO, you now will

be asked if you want to PONG.

- Some primitive sound effect, with ON/OFF menu option.

- Hum... still working on FAN calculation.

- Added a HOST indicator (A small triangular shape)

- Added a WIND indicator

- Some cosmetic changes

- When a MENU is active, the game will freeze until the MENU is finished.

- Added a Score Screen, it is not the actual Mahjong Scoring Rule yet,

(The winner will get 30, if Winner is won by drawing a tile himself,

everyone deduct 10. Else the loser who discarded the tile to the winner

will loss 30).

- IMPORTANT - V0.6 will CRASH PALM III during soft-reset!!! (I am so sorry

about this). Now this is fixed and I have tested it with the OS3 debug ROM.

- Speed setting.

- A complete game flow. It will continue to play after 1 round, with realistic

host changing, wind changing. However SCORING system is still under

development.

- Fix a GONG BUG, especially when you want to GONG after drawing a tile.

- Ask if you want to WIN. (Maybe you would like to win by drawing a tile

yourself)

how to Pong, Sheung or Gong yet. Just keep drawing tiles one by one until

one of them achieve a winning pattern.

Single player mode, no computer AI at all, so player keeps on drawing tiles

from the pool until a winning pattern is achieved.

Future Enhancement :-

- Fine Tune computer AI.

- Support different country rules. Hong Kong, Japanese...

- Support different scoring mechanism.

- Arcade mode - Different Type of CHEATS!

e.g. 1) Change tiles at the beginning of the game

2) See other's Tile

3) Start with many good tiles

4) Of course, computer will CHEAT also!

- BUGS fixes.
