NOTES:
Alone In The Dark was the greatest horror game series ever released. As per usual, I remember the music from the games just as I remember the eerie houses and locations. The 2nd part in this series had some amazing music composition, and I think I liked it even more since the storyline involved pirates, and pirate music always rules :) In this mix there are two songs, the first is theme that plays when you start at the house gate, very bassy, simple and kind of godfather like really. The second piece was, well it played through various parts of the game, and the tune just kicked ass. Hell's Kitchen is, ofcourse, the location where this game takes place, and Zombies & Thompsons you ask? Cause the two went together nicely with bang!
This mix wasn't an easy one. I first started writing it with just the second tune in mind, but as I tracked it, I realised it was a bit short, so I decided to include another tune from the game, which in turn, became the first tune. Once tracked, finding the right instruments was hell. I couldn't decide whether to use piano/vibes/guitar/saxaphone...just to name a few. Eventually I worked things out with guitar pickin', and I think it worked quite well. Another hard part was the voice/synths. Can you hear them now? When you do...imagine them 800% louder, that's how I had them set up until tonights completion. Ok, now some brighter info, the drums. I'm very happy with my drumming here, I've learnt quite a bit about hihats thanks to this mix. Also added a harmonica here and there, hope you like it. The bass...the bass? All three of them :) Ones an acid sweep, ones a jazz big bass sample, the other is a standard acoustic bass string.
