Halo - PPF Patching Tutorial

PPF basic instructions.

PPF Patching for Dummies:

? Make a new folder inside your halo trial\maps (folder) call it something like PPF’s

? You can find the PPF program at this link: http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=8&highlight=ppf++matic

? Once you have “my” files either emailed to you or the ones you downloaded; drop them into this “new” folder you created in your halo trial\maps folder\PPF’s You will need to “open” this file & drop all the ppf files into this same folder once unzipped\opened

? Ok: now the fun stuff:

o Make a backup copy of your entire maps folder: in case you want your originals back

o Launch PPF-O-Matic it will look like this “icon”

o Now click on this type of icon found inside the program once launched: it will be in the upper left hand corner of program. Right click on it. There should be something that says associate ppf files. Just click on it

o Now: where it says “Patch” this is where you will browse to your PPF’s folder inside your maps folder. This is the location of ( 3 ) PPF files: bloodgulch\bitmaps\sounds

o We will patch each of these one at a time

o First the bloodgulch file (ppf): just click on it until its hi-lighted then click on the open button: it now should appear under the box that says “Patch”

o Now the “upper box” that says “ISO File” click on the little disk at end of box \browse feature

o Browse to your halo trial\maps folder and stop here

o You will need to change for the file type you are looking for by clicking on the little disk\browse button. Once it is up; change the files of type from CD Images to read: All files (*.*)

o You will now click on your bloodgulch map in your halo trial\maps folder then click open: it now should be in the upper box

o Now merely click “Apply” button: you will get a message that says burned successfully

o YOU WILL DO THIS SAME PROCESS to the last two PPF files: sounds & bitmaps

o The key is to make sure BOTH the PPF file and the ISO file MATCH then click “Apply”

o Once you have successfully applied all 3 PPF files; launch Halo Trial to play your new mod! Have fun & drop me a an email if you need any help
