Gametime 1.0
Gametime is a timer designed specifically for use with family and
board games. It turns your PalmOS machine into a replacement for your
Boggle(tm) timer (if you've lost it), or you can use it to enforce a
time limit on turns in games like El Grande. There are lots of timer
programs for PalmOS, but Gametime has several features not found on
other timers:
o During game play, everything can be accessed with one big button. So
you can put your stylus back in its slot, and just use your finger
to turn the timer off and on, like the Calculator app.
o There's a nice big analog display, so you can see at a glance
approximately how much time is left.
o There are two digital displays, one of which is upside-down. This is
so you can leave your PalmOS machine in the center of the table, and
players on the other side of the table can easily read the display.

The center analog display acts as the sole button during normal
use. Press the button once to start the countdown. When time expires,
an alarm will sound, and the timer will reset, ready for the next
player's turn.
If the player finishes his turn before time expires, he can press the
button again. The display will pause for a moment, and then reset. If
the button is pressed again while the time is paused, the countdown
will resume.
Gametime bookmarks the time whenever it's paused. If you want to
restart from that time, press and HOLD the button. The countdown will
resume from where it was last stopped.
You can use this feature if a player needs to take a break in the
middle of his turn. Press the button to bookmark the time. It will
reset, but when the player is ready to resume, hold the button down
until the timer starts from the bookmarked time.
Or, if you like, simply turn your PalmOS machine off to pause the
countdown indefinitely.
There are two settings you can configure, accessed from the Options
dialog which you can bring up from the menu. The Run Time specifies
how long each player's turn is; it can be set anywhere between ten and
zero minutes, in 15-second increments.
By default, Gametime plays a short alarm when time expires, and a
ticking noise for ten seconds before time runs out, as a warning. You
can turn off the warning ticks, or make Gametime silent altogether. If
you have turned off Game Sound in your user preferences, Gametime
won't make any noise, regardless of its settings.
