Description :Out in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, enforcement agents work with tournament champions to practice their assault tactics. The farmhouse allows them to hone infiltration skills in privacy, safety and in a somewhat realistic environment.
The map consists of, well a barnyard. There's a house, a bard and a few other outbuildings. The house is still under construction, hence the missing doors, windows, carpet rolls and recently arrived appliances in boxes. The map's pretty open, lots of entrances and exits - cool stuff at dead-ends and support for different modes of play - cramped areas inside the house, a sniper area and support for a few different levels of play.
I spent time on the bots in this and they're fairly good - the just don't stop. They still won't go for the power-ups unless the fall on them - sigh.
This is my _first_ map, and if I had to do it again, it'd look somewhat different. I have to say I've learned quite a bit from this experience that should help me with the next map. I hope you get some enjoyment out of the map and that it runs ok on your system. I've tested it on a PIII-667, PII 450 and PII-400 with GeForce and Voodoo2 cards and it seems to run fine with a max of 4 players.
Where to get this map :this is beta, not sure where to get feedback
Other levels by author :None. Hopefully the list will grow.
Additional Credits to :QAPete, Sean Bonney and Kaileb Preston for help with the texture pack. The many editing sites out there for the tutorials (unrealized, dukeed.com, -unrealed.org- and unrealed.net) and of course Cliffyb and the talented folks who brought us UT. Some of the textures used came from RealMaps at PU so credit goes to them for ModernTextures and Urban.

Known bugs :
Mirrors - shoot them and they leave grey squares.
Bot paths - they don't go for power-ups and paths aren't cooperating inside the house.
Architecture - if you don't notice the flaws, I'll be happy.
Bounding area - I surrounded the map with an Invisible collision hall, I'd like to block players but not shots or weapons.
Skybox - see the moon, it has a black outline!
Build - some holes if you look at JUST the right angle.
Suggestions for how to fix these and any other bugs you find are welcome.
--- Construction ---
Editor(s) used :Ued, pain and pleasure!
Base :new
Construction Time :Hours, and more hours.
Installation
------------
Put DM-BARNYARD in unrealtournament/maps. Put the Byard.utx file in unrealtournament/textures.
Extended description:
--------------------
I tried to go for realism here but some aspect break the illusion. The weapons rotate (easy fix) and the powerups exist, Keg, shield belt, jump boots and so on. To be more realistic I'd remove the powerups and fix the weapons.
Author's Notes
--------------
The map can be fast as there are routes everywhere. I recommend 2 to 4 players, any more is ridiculous - unless you like that sort of thing. Constructive feedback is most welcome.
